The AB6CQ repeater is actively linked to Echolink. The link is known as AB6CQ-R, node number 114791. Feel free to connect and check it out. I'm normally connected to the CNARN conference but I do disconnect it when the repeater is used locally as to not tie up the conference. If you are travelling and will be in the area, just get a hold of me or John, KG6POM so we can connect you to your link back home or anywhere so you can stay in touch with friends, etc.
I keep the node up as much as I can. I do a power cycle about once or twice a week. The node is based on a PIII 450mhz pc dedicated for Echolink. The radio is a Vertex FTL-7011. I suggest a commercial type radio for the RF as it is more robust. I've blown finals on ham gear used as a link radio even on low power settings. The interface is the AB6CQ Compact Interface. It's backed up with 333 mhz pc and a Motorola M120 just in case. I'd rather have a backup and not use it than not have one and need it.
I run the node on a wireless network. At first I thought it wouldn't work as good being on a wireless network. I have not had any problems with it at all. One thing I had to do is get a desktop antenna for the wireless card. My access point is up on the second floor and the node setup is in the garage. It was ok with the stock antenna on the network card but I wanted to get a better signal quality. You can't go wrong with a desktop antenna in this case.
